Bibisara Assaubayeva is the current Women's Blitz World champion, the youngest in history to earn this title, with just 17 years.

Bibisara learned to play at the age of four, taught by her grandfather, and just two years later, she won her first city championship. It wouldn’t take long before bigger achievements followed, and she became the winner of the World Youth Championships in Caldas Novas (Brazil) in the Girls U8 section, despite being one of the youngest participants.

In 2016, Assaubayeva won a gold medal at the World Cadets Championships in Batumi, Georgia, in the Girls U12 category, and the next year, she won a silver in the Girls U14 division in Montevideo, Uruguay. During this brief period, she was playing for Russia since she and her family had moved to Moscow. However, in 2019 they moved back to Kazakhstan, and Bibisara switched again her national federation to her native country. This allowed her to play for the Kazakhstan team at the Women's World Team Championship. Defending the third board, she was the best scorer in the Kazakh team, with 5/9.

Her most impressive achievement came in December 2021, at the World Rapid and Blitz Championships, where she surprised everybody with a phenomenal result. First, she got the silver medal in the Rapid Championship, only behind Alexandra Kosteniuk. Just two days later, she was crowned Women's World Blitz champion, winning the event in great fashion: she scored 14/17, winning 13 games, and securing her victory with two rounds to spare.
